Sorry it has been so long between posts! I just wanted to give you guys an update as to what is going on with the blog. First of all, I went back to BC for Christmas so I wasn’t in town to find any people to talk to and take pictures of. Second, I have tried asking people and have found my self in a “I just asked a girl on a date and she said no” type of situation haha. Only this is happening in front of loads people on public streets and such! Making it even worse lol. It has been quite unnerving to say the least.
The blog will live on! I went out again yesterday to ask some people and only found the nerve to ask one person and yet again she said no. I am sure I would have found some one if I had more than 20 minutes to get it done or I wasn’t such a coward and just asked the people I want to ask when I see them, rather than look at them with a double take and watch them walk past me and out of my life before they enter it. Oh well! haha. I have a little more spare time today, so I am going to take my camera and iphone and make sure I find at least one person downtown willing to talk to me for this blog! π
Rob I really enjoy your blog. I agree it is very difficult to approach people and ask to take a photo. Down here is the “states” i think they assume you are a pervert or stalker but I have tried to look at it as part of the fun and challenge.
Thanks for including information on each photo I find it valuable and helpful. Keep posting you have a great eye and inspire me!
Thank you very much for your kind comment Bill! I also enjoy your blog and will keep visiting it. I hope to come check out your area one of these days π
I love your honesty in having nerves over asking of people, and the way you describe it – βI just asked a girl on a date and she said noβ type of situation – was so clever! I am also trying to be more outgoing, and at least I’ll remember this blog and smile now every time I feel nervous π
That’s great you will think of this π Also good your trying to be more out going! It’s a good thing for everyone I’d say π
Great shot, and I love the premise here.
Thank you Chris! π
This is why I’d never have the guts to do this kind of photography myself. A fellow blogger and collaborator (Richard at http://thefutureispapiermache.wordpress.com/) has a similar approach, and I doff my cap to you both, because the rejection would wipe out my confidence! A great blog, Rob! π
Thank you very much! I’m not going to lie, it’s not exactly easy to walk up to strangers walking by and try to strike up a conversation and ask them to take there picture and ask them question for a blog haha. It is fun though! Exciting and nerve racking at the same time haha.
Thank you for the link and taking the time to comment. I will check out Richard’s blog.
